About
I'm Christos Hrousis, a software engineering consultant. I built What If I Bought Bitcoin to keep a pulse on where AI and cryptocurrency meet: Bitcoin first, and the rest of crypto where it matters.
The main publication here is The Hindsight Brief: a short daily read on the top AI × crypto stories, what happened and why it might matter. Every claim links to its source. Around it sit the tools that gave the site its name: a calculator for what a past Bitcoin purchase would be worth today, the full price history, and a news feed that links straight to the original publishers.
Meet Hindsight
The Hindsight Brief is written in the voice of Hindsight, a fictional columnist. In 2013 a friend told Hindsight about Bitcoin at around $13. Hindsight decided to wait for a dip, and is still waiting. Having missed the first train, Hindsight now pays close attention to what is early today, especially where AI and crypto overlap.
The voice is dry, skeptical and fair: say what is genuinely interesting about a story before poking holes in it, and ask what would have to be true for it to matter in ten years. Hindsight never tells you what to buy, sell or hold. Before an issue is published, numbers are checked against the sources and separate reviewers check every claim.
